The journal Revista Finanzas y Política Económica (RFPE) was first published at the end of 2007 as a high-impact scientific dissemination mean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the Universidad Católica de Colombia. Since 2008, it has been publishing two issues annually without interruption. Thus, over seventeen years, in sixteen volumes and 32 issues, 283 articles have been published, which have allowed the diffusion of research results, reviews and reflections from more than 300 researchers belonging to nearly 135 institutions, from more than 27 countries.

The editorial and scientific quality of RFPE is recognized in dozens of bibliographic indexes, scientific libraries and regional and international bibliographic databases to which the journal belongs, such as: Publindex, Scopus, Econlit, ESCI (Web of Sciences), SciELO, RedALyC, MIAR, Clase, Dotec-Colombia, RePEc, Dialnet, REDIB, DOAJ, vLex, Econbiz, Econis, InfoBaseIndex, ProQuest, Ebsco, Actualidad Iberoamericana and Ulrich's Periodical Directory. These platforms evaluate the performance and contribution of RFPE in the field of economic science, particularly in the areas of finance and economic policies, and make it globally visible.

Currently, the online edition of RFPE is consulted worldwide, with its downloads exceeding thousands of documents across different databases such as Scopus, OJS, Redalyc and RePEc. The journal is primarily consulted by researchers, professors and undergraduate and graduate students of economic science from all over the world, who use the published articles as a secondary source in their academic projects and activities (RFPE, 2024).

The impact achieved by RFPE over almost two decades is evident in the different indicators that show both the importance of the cited articles and RFPE's contributions to the dissemination of economic sciences from Colombia (Table 1). These indicators also reflect the commitment of the journal's editorial team (comprising directors, editors, reviewers, authors, proofreaders, layout designers, assistants, managers and other collaborators) with good practices in the field of scientific publication editing. Through their constant and rigorous efforts, they have managed to consolidate a high-value scientific product for both the Universidad Católica de Colombia and the region.

Among other things, the positioning of RFPE in databases such as Scopus and Web of Science stands out. By 2024, RFPE was included in Scopus as one of the 11 Colombian journals among a group of more than 1,260 economic sciences journals worldwide, and in WoS, it is consolidated as one of the 16 Colombian journals among 1,340 recognized publications in the field of economic science.

These facts demonstrate the Universidad Católica de Colombia's ongoing commitment to scientific dissemination and university internationalization processes, particularly around the central themes of the complex and extensive field of finance and economic policies. On behalf of the RFPE editorial team, in this editorial we want to commend the work of over 200 reviewers who have ensured the scientific quality of the published articles. Likewise, we would like to acknowledge the dedication of hundreds of authors who have subjected themselves to the journal's rigorous review process. Last but not least, we thank our readers worldwide for consulting our journal and making RFPE one of the most consulted scientific journals of economic sciences from South America, with great global projection. We hope you continue to consult the journal for many years to come.

Aware of our commitment and consistent with the idea of consolidating a tradition of scientific publishing that meets the highest standards of ethics and quality, in this edition we present to our readers a group of highly experienced researchers from the regions of the Americas and Asia, specifically from Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, and Vietnam. They are sharing with us the results of their research, which focuses on solving economic problems related to monetary policy, regional integration, financial markets, macroeconomic imbalances and gender diversity in the financial fields, using sophisticated methods with real-world applications.
